Reaching harmony with the natural environment, while providing personalised, quality Eco tours in
St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
This tour takes you along the Leeward Highway passing through small villages. As we approach the Buccament Valley, we make an inland turn and drive for 2 miles through more small villages, capturing some cultural and historical events. Another 1.5 miles on rugged road brings us to The Nature Trail site.
The Vermont Nature Trail offers an opportunity to explore the St. Vincent Parrot Reserve. The Reserve conserves 10,870 acres of forest, set aside in 1987 to help preserve the endemic St. Vincent Parrot (Amazona guildingii) and its rain forest habitat.
This Reserve provides a superb area for hiking and bird watching. There are two trails: The Parrot Lookout Trail, 1.75 miles and The River Trail, .75 miles, which offer the unique opportunity to walk through cultivated fields, forest plantation, and rainforest with many species of wildlife.
This hike entails 1.5 hours of comfortable walking through a canopy of trees.
The climate in the Vermont Valley is tropical and cool with intermittent rain as you will be walking through a rainforest. Therefore, a change of clothing is advisable in case of rain. For hiking-shorts and t-shirts, ordinary outdoor shoes or sneakers are recommended.
